Let’s see if wine fits in this equation. A recent study indicated millennials value time off and more compensation. I’d say that’s a pretty good “group” to belong to all things considered.

Heres the skinny on that study: Millennials value time off, more money

What I’m really asking, is what age group “didn’t” want more money and extra days off? that’s the real question.

How does wine fit in? More time off: time for drinking wine and being with friends. More money; time to enjoy life, friends and good wine more often.

Millennials and Wine

If you aren’t familiar with the millennial generation, now is a good time to get acquainted. Most sources agree that the millennial generation encompasses those born between the mid-70s and early-00s. Also known as the Echo Boom generation, it’s the largest since the baby boomers. For this reason, it’s a coveted and powerful demographic in all industries, wine included.

While youth unemployment rates have reached all time lows in the U.S. and elsewhere, millennials are still poised to be the wealthiest generation ever due to a combination of income and inheritance. Millennials have also been less affected by the recession if only because they have fewer savings to lose than their long-serving elders. As a result, they’re more likely to see wine as an affordable luxury, making them a helpful revenue source during these tight times.
